Beth Russell Needlepoint Kazak Kit - Rug. At the same time as the Arts and Crafts Movement was active in Europe the nomadic Cossack tribes in the Caucasus region between the Black and Caspian Seas were weaving their own distinctive and colorful rugs. The name COSSACK derives from the Turkish word KAZARK which means FREE-MAN or ADVENTURER. Morris and his comptempories were all heavily influenced by the styles of the East. Beth Russell Needlepoint has taken these influences and designed this delightfully simple rug. PROJECT INCLUDES: CANVAS: 6# /in Zweigart Cream Rug Canvas 40 x 27 inches ( 101 x 69cm). DESIGN: 34 x 21 inches (86 x 53cm). STITCH: Cross. Instructions call for Appleton tapestry wool. 7 colors. A black and white symbol chart is provided for additional guidance. The fringe is provided as a continuous roll for you to cut to your chosen lengths; each length is then attached to the rug in a similar manner to the string on traditional luggage labels. PLEASE NOTE: Allow up to 30 days to ship. Decorative borders and tassels not included in kits.
